The Exotics Candle

A candle inspired by the Victorian plant hunters. Inspired by the daring botanists who journeyed into uncharted landscapes in search of rare and extraordinary blooms, The Exotics captures the romance of discovery, lush greenery, distant florals, and the quiet elegance of an old botanical field journal. This candle was particularly inspired by Marianne North was a Victorian plant hunter and prolific botanical painter. She was an energetic, experienced and enthusiastic traveller who visited many continents and many countries in pursuit of interesting plants to paint. Between 1871 and 1885 Marianne North painted over 800 paintings while visiting 17 countries on 6 continents in 14 years Top notes: Dahlia & Mandarin Middle notes: Orange Blossom, Blush Magnolia Bottom notes: White Woods, Warm Musk Each of our candles is thoughtfully hand-poured using a custom blend of natural coconut wax and beeswax. They’re completely free from phthalates, carcinogens, toxins, and other harmful chemicals often found in traditional fragrance oils so you can enjoy a cleaner, safer burn. Each candle is 14 oz and offers an approximate burn time of 80 to 90 hours. 1. Large 14oz candle. 2. Printed botanical box. Each scent features an individual botanical image. Our candles are not made with 100% pure essential oils. They are made with professional-grade, phthalate-free fragrance oils that may include both natural components (essential oils, absolutes, distillates) and safe synthetic aroma molecules that comply with IFRA (International Fragrance Association) guidelines for candle use. Using ONLY essential oils in candles is not considered safe or stable because of: - Low flash point - Oxidation - Poor burn performance - Inconsistent and even very low throw - IFRA restrictions that limit usage levels (this is because the way they behave when heated for hours is different from how they behave in diffuser, perfume, or topical use) - Some EO can become irritants when combusted or overheated due to the breakdown of natural compounds All fragrances we use are: - Phthalate-free - Free of CMRs (carcinogenic, mutagenic, reproductive-toxic components) - Supported by SDS and IFRA certificates - Designed for safe use in home fragrance applications
